Another Blow

Our babies bunnies didn't make it. We had a very hard freeze last night, and I guess the nest that Cinderella had made for the babes just wasn't enough to keep out the cold. Poor sweet things. The girls are reeling.

  1. Oh, darn it. I'm sorry. Hugs to your girls. The cycles of nature are hard to get used to in farming...especially since we're used to having more control over pets and things. I'm guessing that rabbits, like many animals (except bears) probably don't have have their babies during winter in the wild, so baby bunnies wouldn't be equipped to survive without extreme assistance from humans. Not that it makes it any easier... :(

  2. oh that is tough, so sorry. maybe they could do something sweet like a memorial.
